The Auckland Speech and Drama Competition Society is a charitable trust established to foster and cultivate speech and drama skills within youth. It can only thrive with the support and involvement of the parents, teachers and students involved.
This year our committee has decreased significantly down to 5 people and we are seeking parents or teachers who would like to be involved in the committee and more importantly help during the weekend of the competition. We are especially seeking some volunteers from parents of senior students.
The Committee meets once a month through Apr to June and more frequently from Jun to Sept leading into the competition. We are always wanting people with basic computer skills especially and event management experience as the competition requires a lot of coordination.
During the competition weekend we require people to man the doors, supervise the smaller children back stage, stage helpers in each of the halls and to manage the tea/coffee stall. Generally we appreciate any parents who can offer baking or sandwiches or donate food to offer parents and students over the competition weekend. We appreciate that people may not be able to commit their whole weekend, hence one morning, afternoon or day will suffice. We will gratefully accept any help parents can provide over this weekend as we need it to make it a success.
Please email akspeechanddrama@gmail.com if you can support us in any way.
